Frequently Asked Questions

  • What documentation do I need to buy a house?

While every lender is different, here are the documents you’ll need to gather before we meet:

    – Proof of Income

    – W2s and Tax Returns

    – Proof of Identity and Address

    – A Copy of the Purchase Agreement

    – Drivers’ license and Social Security card (or alternative ID)

    – Bank statements

  • What exactly are closing costs?

Closing costs are the non-refundable expenses associated with closing a loan. They are paid by either the buyer or seller to third parties, which include lenders, brokers and agents. Sometimes they are also referred to as settlement costs or simply settlement fees.

  • How much does it cost to work with you?

My services come at no cost to you as my fee is paid via the lender, not the borrower.

  • Can I get a mortgage with bad credit?

Yes, you can get a mortgage with bad credit. However, the interest rate and terms of the loan may be less favorable than if your credit was stronger. There are a number of lenders who offer mortgages to borrowers with less-than-perfect credit, so it’s important to shop around to find the best deal.

To improve your chances of getting approved for a mortgage, work on improving your credit score.

  • What education do you provide for first-time homebuyers like me?

I offer several free educational resources including my blog, courses, and workshops. Find them here!
